Hiding and seeking in the park, building a den of robbers in the forest, climbing at hills… all these activities belonged to the child hood of us adults. Today´s reality distinguishes of that: the movement area of our kids and teens around their houses or flats is significantly decreased. The time outdoors in the nature is dramatically shortened for most of the kids. Due to schools and kindergardens can only partially compensate this effect, a few nature interested families in the nearby city Themar founded the association “Natur-Themar e.V.” Declared aim and core of the articles of association is the natural and environmental education, especially for kindergardens and schools. Furthermore, there will be implemented and supported environment protection projects. One of the larger projects is the implementation of a forest educational trail around the forest area “Feldstein”.
NIDEC GPM sponsored the purchase and interior construction of a contractor´s shed, stationing within the forest. There, Themar´s kindergarden kids can warm up and evaluate their detections with their project leaders during their weekly forest day.
