The demographical trend and the migration of the labour force in the former West Germany makes increasingly difficult to find suitable qualified employees in East Germany. To help South Thuringia to stay an attractive life- and working region, GPM significantly benefits sports- and recreation clubs, educational and social institutes. Since 2005 GPM has a sponsoring agreement with the sports club SV Biberau e.V.. The club supports talented sportsmen from the elementary school age in the olympic sports Nordic Combined and Cross-country Skiing. Prominent talents of this club are Tim Tscharnke (olympic champion), Pauline Sieder, Teresa Eichhorn, Christian Beetz, Tom Beetz, Max Holland, Lucas Schmidt and Philipp Blaurock.
