GPM GmbH Dr. Eugen Schmidt Merbelsrod received from the auditing and consulting company Deloitte the "Axia Award 2010 in East Germany" in the category "Innnovative Culture - A Success Factor in the Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME)". The ancient Greek word Axia represents "value", "ability" and "success" and thus connects the central aspects of the work and challenges of SMEs. On January 25, 2011, the prize was presented at the event "Ideas Factory SME" in the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski in Dresden. This year the prize was awarded to SMEs, which have displayed an exceptional strength in innovation. Patron of the award was the Prime Minister of Saxony, Stanislaw Tillich.
